Spirit of power

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. -2 Timothy 1:7

God sent us a spirit so that we may be bold in our faith and in our lives. We should not be ashamed of our beliefs nor of our Lord and Savior. Often we tend to hide behind our faith, we have no problems telling people we are Christians, if they ask. But can people see it in our lives when they are just watching us? Do they look at us from afar and can tell that we are Christians? Do we love others as Christ loves us? Do we have the self-discipline, to deny ourselves and worldly pleasures if they come in conflict with or take us apart from the love of God?

These are all things I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. These are things, I need to work on in my own life at home and out in the world. I feel the need to be bold, not always easy, but God gave us the power to do so.
