A common saying around our church is “We are blessed to be a blessing.” God showers blessings on His people not so we can keep those blessings all for ourselves, but so we can bless others. Blessing others is enlightening and brings such joy to me personally, it helps me look for opportunities where I can bless others. But I’ve realized that an important part is that we are to be a blessing to those that occupy our everyday lives. These are those that we work with, those we live with, those in our circle of influence.
And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing -Genesis 12:2
God doesn’t need us to expand his kingdom, but he has blessed us with the privilege of sharing his name with the world. We should strive to glorify the name of God in everything we do. We should use the blessings that he has given us to expand his kingdom.
We are enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. -2 Corinthians 9:11
